It isn't always easy to find fashionable casual clothes when you're a woman of 50+. Especially with more and more department stores closing (we still miss Hecht's). It seems there are less and less places to shop. Notice when you go into a department store many now have the young misses clothing in a place of prominence on the first floor. Of course, that's because it's young misses who are spending the money, or having the money spent by parents!

Well, two of us FashionBlast girls had quite a nice surprise recently when strolling through our local mall. It's a mall that's undergone a recent renovation and one we don't visit often. We passed a women's clothing store called Christopher & Banks and stopped dead in our tracks. "Hey", we said to each other "these are really great clothes, and they're meant for us!" We couldn't believe it. Here was a store full of fashionable casual clothing, sportswear and work clothing for middle aged women. These are quality pieces and we could imagine ourselves wearing any of them.

Everything we saw was age appropriate. These are unique modern up-to-date stylesfor our age group. These are fashions we haven't seen in any of our local department stores.

They've got great striped capri pants and floral skirts, cute tee's and great classic-fit jeans. We were absolutely amazed at their selection of 3/4 length sleeve shirts. At our age most of us have a bit of "jiggle" in the upper arm area that we're not proud of, and that we don't want to share with the world. We were blown away by the selection of 3/4 length sleeve shirts, they had a wide variety of solid colors and patterns and we found them on sale that day.

We spent quite a bit of time in the store trying on clothes. The best part is that we actually had fun trying on clothes. It's been a while since we've been able to say that.

We got some great casual clothing for the weekend wear and some very nice coordinating clothing for our work wardrobes. When we got home we found that Christopher & Banks does have a site online. Unfortunately you can't order clothing online, but if you're lucky you'll find a Christopher & Banks clothing store in a mall near you.

Christopher & Banks haven't forgotten full figured women. They have a sister store for plus sized women called C.J. Banks.
