Born utilizes what is called Opanka construction in the making of their shoes. Opanka construction is when shoes are stitched so that the upper, the sock lining, and the outsole are stitched together in a single process. Apparently this type of construction creates a cushion-like effect which makes shoes that are extremely flexible and comfortable. We're not sure we still quite understand what Opanka construction is, but we can attest that it works!! As we stated above, your Born shoes may be the most comfortable shoes you ever wear.
